AI prompts for strategy and planning: think clearer, decide faster

AI is a useful sparring partner when you plan: it can structure a SWOT analysis, turn a goal into weekly steps, list risks you have not thought of and compare options in a table. The decisions are still yours, but they get easier to make.

AI prompts for strategy and planning: 25 ready-made prompts

3 prompts you can copy

SWOT analysis: Make a SWOT analysis for [business] based on this information: [description of business, market, customers, competitors]. Give 4–6 points per area, then suggest 3 strategic priorities that follow from it.

Business goals for next year: Help me set goals for [business] for [year]. Current situation: [key numbers and status], what I want to achieve: [wishes], resources: [time/money/people]. Write 3–5 SMART goals with a first step for each.

One-page business plan: Write a one-page business plan for [business idea]. Customer problem: [problem], solution: [solution], target group: [target group], how we earn money: [revenue model], competitors: [competitors], first 3 milestones: [milestones].

Replace everything in [brackets] with your own details, paste the prompt into your chatbot and read the answer before you use it.

How to get better answers

Ask the AI to argue against its own suggestion, or to list what would have to be true for the plan to work. That exposes weak spots early.

Ask for two or three versions and pick the one that sounds most like you. Tell the AI what to change: shorter, warmer, more formal.
